New Chapter same Mission
Dear Roses’ Community,
We are writing to let you know that after 8 years and nearly 400 batches of beer we are transitioning from our beloved, bespoke and deeply gratifying hard work of in-house brewing at Roses’ Taproom.
The decision to adapt our vision to the current moment was not made lightly. It was, in fact, made in the spirit of continuing forward with the foundational beliefs and drive that led us to embark on this endeavor a decade ago: deep passion for cultivating an inclusive and welcoming community, enchantment with the creative process, boundless curiosity, eagerness to share and collaborate, and the dogged pursuit of excellence with integrity.
This transitional effort is accompanied by deep reflection and immense gratitude for everyone who has played a part in creating what Roses’ is today. We especially want to acknowledge the two individuals who solely sustained our brewery operations: Luke, whose singular vision and driving force shaped Roses' Taproom from its inception. Luke’s contribution and care are represented in every element (tangible and ephemeral) of our space, his leadership of the company and stewardship of the Brewery, commitment to inclusion and joy of brewing has been at the core of our efforts. And Jules, whose skill and unwavering dedication ensured our delicious beer flowed consistently for years. Their commitment to excellence, innovation, creativity, and consistency in their craft is beyond words. We truly bow to you.
To commemorate this significant transition and honor our incredible brewing team, we are excited to put on draft Jewels Hazy IPA. This final in-house batch is named in recognition of Jules and his hard work. Join us in raising a pint to our team, our space, and to our past, present, and future.
We believe that brewing small batches of beer in vibrant Temescal for the last eight years is just about the raddest thing we could have possibly done. We are immensely proud to have done it through the unprecedented headwinds that our business, as well as many others, have had to navigate. The reality is that despite numerous adaptations over the five years since the pandemic, maintaining our distinctive, in-house brewing model has become unsustainable.
This transition presents an exciting opportunity to re-conceptualize and expand upon the foundational principles and ethos that have guided us thus far. This evolution will allow us to broaden our draft and bottle program, as Roses’ is now poised and excited to partner with an expanded array of unique craft breweries that share our core value of producing creative and delicious beer. Mug Club members, your experience is vital to our community. We’ve been dreaming up the next phase of your membership, and will share details of the expansion directly tomorrow.
Throughout our years, Roses' staff, patrons, and community have been the heart of our flourishing presence. Together, you have participated in the evolution of the nascent concept, sprouted long ago, and that has fermented and transformed Roses’ into the vibrant space and community that we are today. We are excited for you, our dedicated community, to be a part of this new chapter. We are immensely grateful for your sustaining support, and can’t wait to raise a glass with you.
With our deepest thanks,
Hillary Huffard & Luke Janson
